Why does it matter that scientology doesn't like psychiatry ? What does that have to do with any arguement ?

I dont like shrinks cause they sold me on pills with blatent lies about seratonin and then when the pills made me sick I found myself behind locked doors being coerced to take more pills for a problem they caused but blamed on me !

They are the dirtiest people on the face of this planet, selling drugs with lies and then locking people up who get sick from them and coercing more drugs.

Thanks for pointing out the connection Copy_cat. I must have not read that right or something. I agree with you, I don't understand why it would matter that Scientology doesn't like psychiatry. There are a lot of other groups and organizations that don't like psychiatry either. Yet people seem to overlook those.

I was actually gonna start a post about "why does it matter Scientology is antipsychiatry" or why does it matter who they are when they do so much work for the rights of mental health....Its kinda important because everyone relates antipsychiatry to Scientology, its annoying ..they aren;t the only ones and if it wasn;t them who would do all that work for justice

where's elvis? I actually notice the users of the schizophrenia forum here is kinda pro med on this site too but at least the moderators don;t give a $#%^ if you have your own opinion or experience.

i do know that they give away free mental health documentary dvds on one if their sites. i got one before i realized what CCHR actually WAS.

what groups can actually do something for you when you got forced drugging and human rights violations, I've tried a few different ways but noting comes up with anything, there is nothing you can do about it just stuck in the illusive Bull $#%^ that psychiatry is.....

I go traumatic memories led to stress and sleep deprivation then deterioration that mimicks psychosis and they just say psychosis is what I was talking about being traumatic, its B-shit I only just come back from seeing quack, she at least considered my trauma stuff but thinks because the drugs are effecting my communication that I am schizophrenic....since when did it mean you have a mental illness coz you have so much stuff that need to be acknowledged by the industry that no time to communicated it all so go on a tangent to cover a point and such, or they don;t understand the indepth stuff to do with my spiritual beliefs that they can;t make sense of..

this isn;t the place to complain about it I guess, maybe I should see what the scientologists can do I wouldn;t care if they were devil worshipers we at least see eye to eye realising psychiatry is a crock of Sh#$t.

Does this mean that you believe that Scientology’s anti-psychiatry helps to correct abuse in psychiatry? In my opinion it only means that all criticism is ignored because it is equated with Scientology propaganda.
Only by distancing yourself from Scientology your criticism of psychiatry will be taken seriously.
By referring to sites like CCHR or psychsearch you only help Scientology and the status quo in psychiatry.

I don't link to cchr for that reason, although they got their info sorted and we can thank them for revealing conflicts of interest in psychiatry

It doesn't matter whether you distance yourself from Scientology or not, people will still prejudge your arguments as exhibiting a Scientological bent for the sake of their own arguments. The reason why psychiatry hates Scientology, apart from the obvious reciprocation of the hatred Scientology shows them, is because they perceive them as threatening their monopoly on abusing the vulnerable, the wretched, the miserable, the powerless and the abandoned.

I am not sure how this conversation became partly the topic of Scientology, and I am almost afraid to post on a psych forum after the harassment from nearly all the staff I received at Crazyboards. If sharing my experience there is permitted (as I did not see anything prohibiting it in the Forum Rules), I would like to start my first post by expressing that this is the first experience of physical or online harassment I can recall, even after a year's membership. Not once, after over 1k posts on a different site, did I receive anything close to harassment.

Essentially, what I am curious to is whether or not Psychforums permits open retaliation as opposed to a PM, whether or not we are allowed to suggest (yet not make) a diagnosis, or provide personal feedback or experiences with medication; most importantly (personally, anyways), is if we are allowed to provide cited research (whose author(s) allow distribution) that does not encourage someone's not taking their medication and does not attempt to make a psychiatric diagnosis for another member.

Lastly, thank you for allowing membership!
