Hi, I just saw this.

Since I've been called out by name repeatedly, I figure it's well within my right to respond.

CB is a site for people who are trying to overcome their MI by whatever means necessary and live full, productive lives. We've had users go from being on disability to completing phds once properly treated. If you want to revel in your own MI without interest in ever being a functional member of society, that is your right. At CB we set our aims quite a bit higher than that though. We believe that regardless of your diagnosis that with the proper treatment you have a very good chance of living a full and normal life. If that's not your goal, that's fine. That's your right. CB just isn't the site for you. We're 100% committed to helping each other get better.

The DSM has not yet labelled human rights activism or surviving psychiatric drugging, fraud and abuse a disease yet therefore I not "mentaly Ill".

Who the hell are you to call anyone "mentaly ill" or disfunctional anyway ? WTF

That's blatently false. You banned a user for discussing psychosocial treatments for mental disorder (http://www.crazyboards.org/forums/index ... id__473258), which according to Robert Barlow's "Clinical Handbook of Psychological Disorders" is an effective stand-alone or adjunct treatment for almost every mental disorder that exists. So it does not seem to be the case that you are providing a forum where people can discuss ways of overcoming mental health problems by "whatever means necessary". In fact, it's quite the opposite. You are commited to a very narrow range of treatment modalites and go to extreme lengths to silence anyone who disagrees with you, which is rude, but it's also incredibly ingnorant. As far as I can tell, you have no education in psychology, psychiatry or neuroscience so I'm wondering how you are able to recommend any treatment for people over the internet? Here on Psychforums, our moderators acknowledge that the treatment of mental disorders is best carried out and recommended by professionals with requisite training and experience and therefore do not recommend any treatment modality ever! Of course, maybe you're all savant-like geniuses who can intuit what treatment people need by reading their posts, that's a logical possibility, but more likely is the possibility that you're not and should act accordingly.

Maybe you should adopt the Psychforums approach of suggesting that people seek help from professionals instead of impersonating those professionals? Also, having an open discourse about all areas of mental health seems like a good idea too. Forced treatment, involuntary hospitalization and medication side effects are as much a part of mental health as depression, anxiety and psychosis.

Oh, okay. You set your sights higher than helping people who don't have any interest in being functional members of society. Fair enough...

Really? I thought you said you set your sights higher than helping people who don't have any interest in being functional members of society? You must be using the term "100%" in a Pickwickian sense

I guess the fact that the single paragraph you posted has both a blatantly false premise and a contradiction casts doubt on whether or not you are one of the success stories on CB that pulled so hard on their bootstraps as to go from "being on disability to completing phds" Nonetheless you're totally above the revelers who are still struggling to figure things out...

Its like the front of the medical industry an part of the marketing on clients and produced over any questioning of the industry itself to the extent of making it out to be a symptom of delusded behaviour to question scientific validity over its projections.

Some get its attention of pharmaceuticals and influence over proceedings and possible positive ramifications of experienceing altered states of consciousness. I experienced it as kind of self-transcendence and full of stimuli associated to archetypse and symbolism, kind of abstract and lucid imagination.when they might just want some space to sort out a kind of reflection over proceedings that led to an ER admission. They even label insight into sleep deprivation as a symptom of an illness in need of instant antipsychotic admission and resolve of sleeping patterns to overcome a sleep disorder that extends in hours awake to the point of sunrise over several days and then not tolerating sleeping these hours and then of the very symptoms acute sleep deprivation intoxication produces, I find has a kind of self-hypnotic trance

I mean when you question the ethics and damage its sheilds to behaviour that questions its authority, I mean of the medical industry......They are actually quite intrusive ....

noticing more lately that they diagnose spiritual concepts as a symptom of delusion for anything remotely new age.

the forum in question is a mere reflection of the current requirements of accepting western medical convention---any evidence of actual truth amongst the lies and power of financial figures of the pharmaceutical industry, such things is instantaeneously considered anti-psychiatry and thus anti-medication only because the professional preach such a different attitude in less invasive treatments. Then we get the reduction of its content and instilling a kind of mockery, yet this attitude is quite false and not in accordance with ethics, and I mean the rights to be given respect for your culture or personal philosophy of illness and knowing of prognosis if left alone from medical authority and political, kinda ingrained into the psyche of everyone in the western world and comes with it the stigma it cares very little for because it makes for a market in stigma and alienation within social circles.

not to mention the drugs can neghatively impact if the intent of transformation was to heal the soul, and personality function, in accordance with perhaps a higher purpose, instantly and professionally judged as a spiritual delusion. Then proceed into hormonal problems that dictate a lot of personality and traits in social circles and the ability to find reward driven positive attributions to adequate dopamine balance in the brain.

that probably didn;t make sense, I was talking about how doctors neglect the fact that there are gonna be side-effects not accounted for if not made out to be part of schizophrenia. So when I say something about dopamine the crazyboard culture jumps to the idea that they had preached to them that they have abnormality in dopamine balance. So the drugs are designed to create an abnormal dopamine balance in anybody's brain, just not enough of the pro-s have experienced it, and the clients are convinced it is part of an illness that needs treatment.

Last week I had a one sided conversation about psychiatric rights according to law mental-health act, they have invented their own sense of less invasive treatments, certainly don;t consider alternatives since they are ill-equipped with information dictated toward drug use.

I mean rights for non-discrimination, as blatant disrespect for grounded spirituality or cultural beliefs is discriminated against by psychiatrists and medical community as delusion, they don;t even consider that I'm more "new Age" and have many beliefs according to that that also sound like symptoms of an illness that needs antipsychotics, pretty bad.

You are telling me this why ?

What is the Citizens Commission on Human Rights?

The Citizens Commission on Human Rights (CCHR) is a nonprofit mental health watchdog, responsible for helping to enact more than 150 laws protecting individuals from abusive or coercive practices. CCHR has long fought to restore basic inalienable human rights to the field of mental health, including, but not limited to, full informed consent regarding the medical legitimacy of psychiatric diagnosis, the risks of psychiatric treatments, the right to all available medical alternatives and the right to refuse any treatment considered harmful.

CCHR was co-founded in 1969 by the Church of Scientology and Professor of Psychiatry Emeritus Dr. Thomas Szasz at a time when patients were being warehoused in institutions and stripped of all constitutional, civil and human rights.

CCHR functions solely as a mental health watchdog, working alongside many medical professionals including doctors, scientists, nurses and those few psychiatrists who have taken a stance against the biological/drug model of “disease” that is continually promoted by the psychiatric/pharmaceutical industry as a way to sell drugs. It is a nonpolitical, nonreligious, nonprofit organization dedicated solely to eradicating mental health abuse and enacting patient and consumer protections. CCHR’s Board of Advisers, called Commissioners, include doctors, scientists, psychologists, lawyers, legislators, educators, business professionals, artists and civil and human rights representatives.
