What exactly?

I am not 100% sure how you can tell if someone has anorexia nervosa, and I would like to know. A close friend of mine(Erica*) used to suffer from it, but she is so much better now and I know she is for sure her boyfriend (another very close friend of mine Brad*)is so protective of her and how she eats and looks at her self.

So I just need to know the symptoms of anorexics. Not because of her but because Erica* and Brad* are driving me nuts.

They think I have this, which is in no way true, I am fine just on a low cal diet. But Brad* gets super freaked when ever he hears diet, only because of what he has been through with Erica*. She is the same way. I admit my diet is not the best, but I am getting great results and I need to loose the weight before an event that is coming up. Everyone has their own body among other issues. I myself hardly sleep and live off of sugar free Rockstars :(

But they are over reacting, right?

I just need to know the symptoms, thank you.

Hey,

Yes, it is very likely that they are over-reacting due to their past experiences. They are only looking out for you but I have seen how situations like this can get nasty. You have to make it absolutely clear to them that you are not Anorexic and that they are seriously beginning to anger you. If they still persist on accusing you of being Anorexic, then it would be advisable to stay away from them. Friends should trust each other too, remember? Perhaps you should remind them of that (i.e. - they should believe you when you tell them that you are fine).

There are many people who want to lose weight, but the Anorexic is the person who is never happy, even when they are clearly underweight/malnourished. To them, losing weight has turned into a kind of routine or compulsion, irrespective of how much weight they have already lost. Anorexics will count calories, restrict fatty foods, and basically eat tiny proportions of everything. I once knew an Anorexic girl who had survived for a while by just eating 2 mints every day.

I am Bulimic, by the way.

Take care,
Kevin
