I am currently in recovery and find myself so obsessed with food and stuffing myself with food uncontrollably. I have put on a fair amount in about 4 days. It is very disheartening and am on the verge of just restricting again. I have heard that this is a normal part of recovery. Has anyone else experienced this?

That happened to me too. But that`s not binging, it`s normal because you need many calories in order to recover. It stopped gradually when I reached my set point weight. But please make sure that you eat enough, and it will stop. You are gaining faster now because your metabolish is surpressed, but when you`re recovered it will be faster. Now I can eat loads and I`m only maintaining my weight. Don`t worry and please don`t restrict.

Happened to me too, it stopped after a while, though it was aggravating. Try to eat enough consistently and in nutritionally adequate meals/snacks, but try not to get too stressed out if you do 'binge' - it's more likely than not reactive eating but encouraging a normal structure to your eating will ensure that it doesn't happen more than necessary. It's a part of recovery most people do go through, your body has been malnourished and worried it will be starved again, but having a loose structure (nothing too rigid) will help it to settle.
