hey everyone.. i need some advice..
i'm very sure my sister is anorexic.. she has a ton of symptoms.
when she eats it's very small and it excludes carbs and things like that.. ex. if she eats a hamburger she won't have a bun.. stuff like that. she is extremly skinny and has lost a ton of weight.. she is 17 years old, about 5' and weighs about 90 or less. she will also feed other people a lot and will get very upset if i don't eat. and the other thing is she exercises a TON she is constantly running and stuff everyday, and plays sports that cause her to lose lots of calories.
I've tried to tell my mom but everytime she denys it and now i don't know what else to do, and if i talk to her about it she blows me off... i'm so confused and scared.. i love her so much and i don't know how to help..'
advice??

hmmm- it could definately sound like she might have some issues there. although diagnosing someone as anorexic isn't as simple as just a few habits that are noticed. a doctor would have to examine her and do a full evaluation.
if u can't speak to your mom, is there an aunt or your dad u could talk to? what about your gp? alerting him/her could be helpful cos they might not have noticed anything funny yet but if u mention it they might keep an eye out or talk to your mom without saying you said anyhting. that way maybe your mom would take more notice of it if it comes from a dr.
do u go to the same school as her? cos if so maybe you could talk to a teacher or school counsellor?
i think you are really supportive of your sister so well done on coming forward. i hope someone else on here can also give some advice, because this is certainly a tricky one to handle.

thank you so much for the advice! i never really thought about telling other members of the family.. i have a grandma, and a cousin i think i could talk 2 and it would help.
and i do go to the same school as her, so if that doesn't work i will try talking to a counseler...
