Im writing this on behalf of my partner because i can type faster than she can
Im 50 and have suffered with an ED since i was 18. My weight is now dangerously low and i need help on which foods to eat. I lost a lot of weight again nearly 2 years ago and havent been able to get back to what i was. I dont eat much whatsoever ie sandwhich maybe and a bag of crisps all day and i still have trouble with that. Since yesterday ive been making more of an effort and had scramballed egg, crisps, toast and a chocolate fudge bar without visiting the toilet and this morning a small bowl of porridge so doing good so far
Should i start drinking something like complan a nutrient drink or not?
thankx...kaz

Hi kazuk,
It's great that you've made up your mind to try and eat more. I know it's hard.
This is one of those things that you should talk to a doctor and/or nutritionist about. There can be complications for someone with anorexia while they're refeeding and you'll need to be under the care of a physician and develop a diet plan with a nutritionist.
What worked for me were smoothies. I'd pack them full of stuff that had nutrition and calories and because it's a liquid, it was easy for me to digest.
I found that one of the hardest parts of deciding to eat again was all the bloating and constipation. With the right type of meal plan you can try and avoid as much discomfort as possible. I don't know about you, but the discomfort often led me back into the disorder.
Let us know how you're doing!
Blame it on me, but know that I won't regret one iota.
