Postby sniffles » Fri Jun 02, 2006 9:37 am

hiya... i've been ana for years (10)and always get nailed for my blood tests being so outta wack. i wanna get help but...well, you know.
i hoped you could tell me (i can't exactly ask the doctors now can i!) how long would it take of starvation to cause them to result as being dodgy?a week? a month? more?cos if so i really need to try eat a bit cos i don't want to get chucked back in2 hosp. i really don't wanna get nailed anymore and just need help to get better but can't face hospitals anymore.

hiya...
well i expect your glucose will come up funky quite quickly hun..
to be honest there's not a whole lot you can do, and i'm not going to give you tips about hiding it from people who are trying to help...
i know it ######6 sucks and its not what you want to hear but darling, if your bloods are coming up bad and you need to be in the hospital its the best place to be...
ugh, i wish i could help... how are you feeling physically? because that can help with knowing how you're doing generally, and might prepare you for dodgy labs coming back...
again, there's not a whole bunch you can do about your labs... have you tried talking to your treatment team (or whoever is in charge of your case) about not wanting to be in hospital... there are many ways of treating this without you having to be holed up in hospital, expecially if its not entirely necessary and something you don't feel would benefit you...
let me know how it goes, ok ? i'm thinking of you... and sorry to hear you've been struggling with this for so long :(
please take gentle care of yourself hun x x x
im not sure what the trouble was that started all of this
the reasons all have run away but the feeling never did
its not something i would recommend but it is one way to live
cuz what is simple in the moonlight by the morning never is

hiya hate- thanks for the reply- don't worry about tips- that's not what I'm fishing for. Just want to know what to expect if I haven't been eating anything for a while. (been surviving on less than 200 cals a day. what I do is skip a day (so zero cals) then do a day with less than 200.) I know its SO not helping me but i feel powerless to stop.
the dr is really putting me in a corner to get them done. i saw her on wednesday eve, and then again yesterday when she called me at work and asked me to come in again at 4pm. woah... time out!
so anyway- just dreading the labs. she's even gone as far as to say she'l do get another dr to do it for me instead of the labotomists (draw the bloods) which psychiatrists never do! i think if i will ask her to do it rather. i'm terrified of having needles shoved into me (i know- lamo!) so feel better if it's some1 i trust. (or kinda at least! lol)
just wish I knew what to expect if they do paths on me again. eating a few meals wont just fix it i suppose. :(

unfortunately not... *hugs*
i don't think they'll be as bad as if you'd been b/p'ing... because that would mess up electrolytes etc, which, btw, they will probably look for in someone with an ed...
best just to get them over and done with, huh ? sucky and painful i know, though... although yes it would help someone you trust to it hun.. and maybe ask for that numbing cream stuff they use on kinds because they canulate them, and then you won't feel it either ? that might help a little...
can i ask what your experiences are of ed treatments in the UK ? i'm in cornwall, and its pretty much non-existant, from what i can see... although i haven't looked/tried all that hard to be fair
take care hun, and please get the bloods done, and then they'll be off your mind, right ?
thinking of you xx x x
