Easily angered

Postby stardust12 » Thu Mar 22, 2012 7:49 am

Hello! I am a 30 year old mother and I have to kids - one is 7 yrs old and the other is 4. I'm a work at home mom and most of the time, I easily get angry at my kids even for the slightest reasons. I feel guilty but I cannot seem to help myself. Does any of you share the same experience?

Hi, stardust12! What makes you angry? Are you feeling stressed or sad or overwhelmed? Maybe it'd help to get your feelings off your chest a little bit here.
There is someone in my family who has anger issues too and I think I might have "inherited" some from them, but I'm feeling better now, less frustrated. I really think that talking is helpful.

Everything seems to annoy me. if i realise a person is upset with me for some reason sometimes that annoys me, sometimes stuff that would have annoyed me randomly pops up and annoys me again. sometimes i read stuff online and it just pisses me off.

like if people are paying attention to what music im listening to or something and then decide the song is ruined for them cause i happened to be listening to them at the wrong time then i get pissed off cause its like WTF were you paying attention for and it better not have ruined anything cause i have the right to listen to what i want in my own space on my own without anyone else getting affected by it cause people shouldn't be paying attention to whatever im doing on my own if its going to affect them!

I'm gonna leave it at that cause i just got pissed off and ranting too much probably isn't going to help.

Hi Katana
Could it be that you feel like some thing is stopping you from what you want? Some say that ager can be a blocked wish. Sometimes we even are suppressing a need we have and the frustration subconsciously comes out as anger.
Maybe try asking yourself "what do I need right now?" or "what would be the perfect solution right now?"
See what comes up and try exploring those thoughts. It might help you figure out what is going on.
Best wishes always

Don’t worry, this is very common. Instead of feeling guilt try bringing consciousness and awareness of what has happened. This is a good exercise, once guilt come shift it and transform it to consciousness, us being aware that it happened it will ease the feeling away and slowly.

The next time try to bring that awareness while you’re having this anger attack, it still is really dominant, but will gradually lose power with practice.

Eventually you will be able to be aware before it happens, and instead of reacting with anger, you will be conscious enough to respond to the situation, your actions will be more effective and peaceful; you will see the difference. Try it, it really works.
