I am currently reading a book by Carl Jung.
In his early days practicing psychiatry, he encounters a female patient who was once a "lady of the aristocracy". Jung goes on to say that she was in the habit of slapping her employees - including her doctors. Before ending up as a patient of Jung, this woman had done the rounds of various doctors, each in turn having been subjected to a slap on the head.
She was a stately and imposing woman of six feet tall and her slaps had quite a bit of power behind them.
The moment Jung had waited for came - she threatened to slap him on the face for some perceived slight. Jung says he jumped up and said to her "Very well, you are the lady. You hit first - ladies first! But then I hit back!" The lady wasn't used to having her bluff called and sat down withour slapping Jung. Their therapy sessions proceeded successfully thereafter.
Now that's what I call damned good anger management!
Any comments?
