Hello, I am new to this forum.

My story is one of a long and generally happy marriage of +40years. However my wife and I are both Taurean's, we can have bitter arguments, take stubborn stances and dig in.
On my side I have recently been studying about anxiety and realised now I have probably suffered from this for a long time (I'm in my late 60's, now retired). I better understand the connection between anxiety, primary emotion, and anger, secondary emotion..
So when we argue and it goes on too long, I tend to shout. I know it's unacceptable for anyone in any relationship, and as we both grow older, it's seems more a factor that could destroy this long time relationship. I don't want or wish that.
I have started journaling, most days, writing about gratitude, highlights of the day, and my mood.
I'm still not following some of the great guidelines in dealing with anxiety (then anger), when it arises, that I picked up reading Anger Management by Avery Wright (audible version was great).

Would appreciate any help, advice, POV, or other to help me to stop shouting as an anxiety/anger response. I dearly love my wife but don't want my anger and shouting to break us.
