Dear friends,
I have not posted for a long time, so Greetings from long ago!
My sister and I have had problems with communication for decades. We think this goes back to how we were raised. I am 6 years older than my sister. She's in her 70s now, and I am 80, and we have finally agreed to go to group counseling for the two of us together. Each of us also has our own individual counselor the week after our group counseling sessions. Group counseling is every two weeks and starts in mid-January. I'm a bit apprehensive.
I tend to see the negative outcome of things. Does anyone have any suggestions about how to overcome this trait?

What could possibly go wrong?
My mom has the same view of things and I used to have the same view up until I turned 18. I used to think, if I only see the negative aspects of things, the actual thing happening wouldn't hurt so bad, if you know what I mean. I don't think it would help everyone, but writing down my negative thoughts and meditating helped a lot. I still suffer from depression though, so I think you made the best decision to take group counseling. I think you should try meditating and see for yourself though.
