Does anyone know what the standard NHS reaction to anger management is at the moment?
I've come across Secondary Care and inpatient based professionals who seemed to have no knowledge/reaction to the idea of providing e.g. a course to persons who have problems with anger. (No reaction whatsoever/no knowledge of.) The teams concerned seemed willing to treat for completely different disorders instead of paying attention to the fact the individual had actually lost their temper. - And because of that application of safeguarding has also not been all that informed.
Does anyone have experience of a decent secondary care team who know what they are doing? Is this simply a bad care team or is there a lack of knowledge or recognition where anger issues are concerned?
Has anyone done a decent course, are they available? What sort of things are involved?
