Free aims anger mgmt app tool

Postby thegentlepath » Tue Apr 28, 2020 3:40 pm

I got the aims for anger mgmt app a little while ago but didn’t use it until now. I reduced my anger level from 5 to 3 using thought stopping. Thought stopping counteracts angry thoughts. You identify phrases you can say to yourself in the heat of the moment.

I used this app again today. I reduced my anger from a 4 to a 2 using a 5 minute time out & thought stopping. A time out is just what it sounds like: what one might do with a cranky toddler. A loud obnoxious radio is triggering me.

I used this again today. I was feeling frustration. I don’t like feeling controlled by my family of origin. At least I know what to expect from them. They’re predictable. It’s routine. I reduced my anger from a 3 to a 1 using anger & irritability management skills.

I used this app after a conversation with a sibling & reduced my anger from a 4 to a 2. I’m feeling more in control & detached from my triggers by seeing them objectively. These family dynamics are predictable. We all play a part. I can’t change other people. It’s challenging enough changing my reactions, but it can be done. It’s for me, it’s not for them. 8)
