So what are some of the mental health conditions which could cause major anger symtoms?

For adults: Substance Use Disorders; Mood Disorders;
Intermittent Explosive Disorder; PTSD; Other Anxiety Disorder

Adolescents: Attention Deficit Disorder; Conduct Disorder; Oppositional – Defiant; Tourette’s.

Other underlying issues could include personality disorders and physical conditions such as: Hormonal Disturbance; Epilepsy;
Diabetes; Strokes; Tumor; Head Injury, etc.

Anger management education can be helpful for anyone who is serious about changing. But, if someone is struggling with these other issues - they need professional help and a physical exam.
See: http://www.nbcc.org for a counseling directory.

EXCELLENT THREAD! I deal w/ rage and anger issues. I am one who is EASILY aggitated....and often flat out quick to rage. I get so angry all the time. It finally reached what I felt was a verbally abusive and dangerous level (not physically but who knows you know?). So I talked w/ my dr. and said something had to change. By the way.....I deal w/ OCPD....cyclothymia....I have issues in my past....sexually abused as a child....bulimic, etc. etc. etc. Yes.....I guess one could say I have mental health issues. Sure....I also have some true anger issues ....like I have some issues w/ my siblings.....they are not present each day though you know? At any rate. W/out getting into a blow by blow account because that would take more pages then one would want to read here.....point is....I have been on meds for a long time to help me cope w/ the things I need to "cope w/" and that was working for a lot of my symptoms.....but not touching the anger piece. When things for me reached the point they did here a couple of months ago.....I knew I had to get help. I talked w/ my dr. He adjusted my meds. I'm doing SO much better. Now the other things I do for myself outside of my meds finally seems to work. Because of course you can't just pop pills and expect that to be your 100% cureall and only answer. But I did need a change in my meds. Now everything falls into place better though. So yes. Not sure if my words are making any sense what so ever here.....bear w/ me....just woke up!......but the thread started here above me....GREAT points to be made!
