Letting out my anger in a positive way

Postby Healing_ Teen » Sat Sep 16, 2006 3:28 pm

Hello. My name is Tierra and I am 17 years. I have anger inside...but I think everybody does. However, I used to keep all my anger in but I am starting to let it out by punching my pillow and playing soccer. I use my anger as a source of energy and after I am done playing, I feel better. I am also starting to talk to my therapist and to my mom about some things that bother me and I have a great support system. I recommend people who are having trouble with their anger, take it out on something that has no feelngs....and NOT yourself!!
Take Care,
Tierra

That actully dosent seem to work, or it never did for me atleast. When i was younger i was one angry lad. I would go to the scrap yard and smash up cars with a sledge hammer. Doing that takes alot out of you yet even after i was falling over tired i'd still want to hurt something. Had nothing to do with getting out aggression but making something suffer...thats anger.

What i suggest is boxing.

wouldn't boxing be the same thing as a kind of "sport"? Like for me, it is playing soccer because it deals with kicking. What you suggest is boxing, which deals with hitting. So really, aren't we basically on the same track?

Boxing is good for a veriety of reasons. If you go to box not like fitness but the art of boxing. 1: it teaches you discipline and self control. You have to learn how to keep your enotions and anger in check or your gonna get killed in the ring. 2: If you really get into it you'll reach a phisycal condition most, even exercise fanatics dont obtain...like a horse, perfect balance of speed and power with timing. 3: being able to pick your spots and throw a precise combination into another human beings torso and face is a little different then kicking a soccar ball. Your releasing aggression while hurting another person.....thats the sport and your gonna get hurt if you step into the ring so its not cruel. Plus if gives you loads of self confidence....if someone outside the ring in life is a pest or bug, or a real prick and gets on your nerves just knowing your fully capable of kicking the $#%^ out of them...even if there not aware is enough for you to not even have to.

Its like knowing that if someone is bothering you that the only reason they are able to is because you havent chosen to stop them...you hold the power.

Yep, boxing is good.

oh ok. I understand now but playing soccer really does help me...these are the things that help me get out my anger:
1) playing soccer
2) throwing things
3) writing
4) listening to music and singing as loud as I can
5) talking to a friend

The best thing for me to help vent my anger is to write, or i'll make an appt with my pdoc, but i can normally calm myself down.

Sometimes you just need to vent.
