anger...

Postby stargazer01 » Sun Sep 03, 2006 5:20 am

there's no easy answer on how to release anger. I'm not sure if this will help but here is what I do... first I will tell you my name is Susan, I'm 28 and a single mother.
Of the things that I have tried in the past, there's not really anything that has worked. But just trying different things could make it easier for you. First, try focusing your anger into something constructive. I know that you have tried writing, and other things... how about something a little different. There may be a way for you to work out your anger on something without hurting anyone else in the process. Post a sign offerring to trim trees or cut down trees. Most anger can be focussed on tearing things apart. Only make sure that it is focussed enough that you get permission to do so.
I used to, and sometimes still do, simply go out into the woods around my house, with an axe and find a tree "usually rotted" to some extent, and with the idea in mind of whoever or whatever has angerred me, start chopping untill it's down. This may not be the best thing for you, and then again... it can't hurt anyone really as long as you have permission for doing so. This will either drain anger from you, or make you so uncomfortable that your body and mind will simply not get as angry as before, it may help to tone down what you feel.

Hope this helps.

Hi,

Anger is not something you get rid of...you can learn to manage it. Beleive it or not you..you can use your anger to change some serious problems in your life.

Dear Brittany,
I would encourage you to get professional counseling or see your school counselor for these issues especially the "cutting". If you have been harming yourself - you need help. You need to let out the feelings- anger, sadness, disappointments, frustration, grief to someone who can help you learn healthy ways of coping.
You may find that talking to someone on a hotline is helpful such as: Youth Crisis Hotline: 1-800-Hit-Home
This site has some great articles and resources for self-injury issues: http://www.self-injury.org

At some point, you need to ask your doctor, parents or guardian for help - to see a counselor. You may find help by speaking with a youth pastor or the pastor of your church. In any case, it sounds like your anger is a mixture of depression and other issues that needs serious intervention and support from people who know how to help.
