need resources for OHIO

Postby inneed » Sat Jun 17, 2006 6:15 pm

Hi-I am in desperate need for resources in Central or Northwest Ohio. I have looked at the links provided but do not see anything listed for my area. I need an anger mgt program or intensive therapy for it. I prefer non-christian based, only because I am gay and do not wish to have that be a problem. I have to do this soon or I will lose everything that is good in my life. Thank you. Please say a prayer or send some light for me if you don't mind, even though none of you know me. Sorry if that is too much to ask.

Depending on where you are in Ohio, there should be a community based mental health center that can refer you to anger management counseling and/or group therapy. You may also want to consider seeing a psychiatrist, since there are numerous medications that can help with anger and impulse control. Look in your phone book for county ADAMHS Board (Alcohol, Drug And Mental Health Services). Every county in OH had an ADAMHS Board. Get on the phone and don't stop calling till you find what you need. In the meantime, if there is a mental health crisis line in your area, use it when you are feeling angry, it may help diffuse some of your anger and keep you from doing something you will regret later. Good luck to you, I hope you find what you need.

I suggest you look at the directory of providers of anger management on the American Association of Anger Management Providers*advertising removed by mod*

Many counselors offer anger management counseling so you can check with a mental health agency for a referral as recommended.
