For the past couple of months I have been drinking more and more. Right now I have tried to limit it to a half a bottle of vodka and a few beers a day. Sometimes I have to be careful because I will drink so much I'll wind up puking all night and all morning. The other day my girlfriend (I am gay) said that we couldn't drink that day and I can't even describe what my reaction to that was.. Well in the end I got some alcohol. I also will not share my vodka with people and hide it places, both for secrecy and because I don't want anyone else taking any. I usually start drinking about an hour after I get up. And I am also prescribed medication for mental health and thyroid disorder and I don't take them because I drink all day. Sometimes I do, but it literally knocks me out for hours. I am always thirsty and feeling weak a bit. Today I ate a lot in between my drinks as wella s having gatorade in between them. My girlfriend has been an alcoholic but says there is nothing wrong with me, so I don't know what to think. Can anyone tell me what they think?

Hi Leslieslsa,
It does sound like you have a problem. It's worth mentioning to your treatment team so they can better manage your medications & other disorders as well.
If you are hiding your alcohol & when you drink then your girlfriend isn't seeing the whole picture. Even if she does know how often & how much you're drinking, it's fairly typical for people in a relationship with a problem drinker to downplay how bad it is.
Best wishes
Blame it on me, but know that I won't regret one iota.

I am going to try to quit drinking for a bit and take my meds. It is just the cold sweats, jitteryness and fatigue that are feeling not so good.
