Hi I'm an alcoholic too and just PMed a reply to you.
You are definitly NOT alone here. Battling alcoholism is a very hard path even with tools available out there. Having another alcoholic to talk to, or even just to share thoughts with can be one of the best help you can get.
Been sober since Feb (crossing fingers) and have found it much easier to focus & solve problems that come my way since then. I have found alcohol clouds things up more than I realize now that Im sober and looking back.
Just dealing with the depression between drinking is so hard and scary it quickly drove me to drink the very next evening no matter how much I had vomited that morning and SWORE I wouldn't touch another drink.
Gotta be honest with you thou, I don't think I could stay sober long it if I wasn't so isolated. In other words if I still lived in the city or within walking distance of a liquor store.
Between isolation and talking online, I find myself now a happily sober person. Oh I still have issues, depression, nightmares, fights w hubby and so forth however it's alot more easier to put them into perspective and to reach out now that I am sober. Apparently Im alot more stubborn than I realize whenever I fall off the damn wagon.
