Still suckin’ air I see, good deal! I was wondering how you were doing.
The mantra I chanted for the longest time, in face I said it to a guy I am working with just last night, is… “There isn’t anything going on in your life right now that a drink will make better.” As long as I continue to believe that piece of wisdom, I have a good chance of going to bed tonight sober.
Good to here from you Tim. Stay in touch.
Richard

Just wanted to say congrats and your success so far. And wanted to comment about the lorazepam. My Dr. prescribed me that also and I only take .5 mg when needed (thank god haven't used it in almost 1 1/2 weeks. But that stuff will nock you out and you have to be carefull not to depend on them because they are addicting. When I've used them for a few days in a row, a week later I am real foggy about what happened when I used them.
Good Luck with you journey!
Amber

hi amber, thanks this has been an interesting journey indeed. 68 days now with out a drink, or any drug use although i was seldom with the drugs. anyway, yes the lorasapam was a wicked pisser. i was on it for a month. i took it almost every day, i couldnt live with out it. and i hated that. yet again i was dependent on something yet another crutch, but i knew it was helping. i was sleeping i was calm. which in tern let me do my job, i was eating again. and knew it would get better if i just saw it through. i too lost days and sometimes entire weeks on it. one of my freinds would call me to ask me if i deposited money into my accounts and if i paid my bills. she would tell me what day it was and what we had talked about the night before. it realy did suck.
everything is a lot better now. and getting better everyday. good luck to you(and anyone trying to get/stay sober) on your journey. if you want to talk pm me.

Tim, you understand that what you have done, and are doing, puts you in a minority?
The very exclusive club of people who have said to themselves, I am not going to drink, and made it stick.
It has been a pleasure to watch your progress.
Your friend in sobriety

I have been busy myself. Family, work and hobbies, and roughly in that order. Life is good.
I am proud of what you have done Tim, 80 days, and you should be too. That is significant.
This has got nothing to do with keeping sober, but I have gotten into astronomy and astrophotography in the last year or two. And Tim, if you want to waste 10 minutes looking at what I squandered the kid’s college fund on, check out….
