Yes, alcohol is much more dangerous than pot. But I don't agree that it should be banned. Alcohol isn't the problem, abusers like us are the problem. Our addictions shouldn't impact the enjoyment of others who can consume a responsible amount of alcohol at appropriate times.
To reply to the topic, I drink a fifth of whiskey (Seagrams 7 because it's cheap) every 2 days. In addition I go to the bar where I can get a shot and a beer for $3.
I've been in recovery for 40 days now. I've relapsed twice - drank 1/2 a fifth both times. It's been a week since my 2nd relapse.
