Thanks for sharing. I'm glad you are going to some AA meetings. There are also online meetings. My website has a link for one of the online meetings.

Drinking helped me also to forget and/or deal with the pain in my life. It worked well for a time. Then I had to have more and more to dull the pain. Eventually, alcohol caused me problems. First small ones then giantic ones.

Good Luck,
Jim S

Wow, I can't tell you how great it is to hear someone so committed to staying sober, it is an amazing feeling. My father was an alcoholic, He unfourtunatley couldn't step up and find the way to push that alcohol away and find the man he really truly was on the inside and he past away. His liver shut down, his kidneys failed etc. The last time I saw my father, I was 12 years old and I remember seeing him come walking out of his house and he was huge because the infection and poison running through his body made him swell and I could see his blueish tint from far back, that was the last time I seen him, 3 days later my father died. It brings tears to my eyes to know that you want to get help and you want to stop because you are worth it and to actually admit you have that problem you have made a big step towards your great health. So good luck to you and remember you are worth it, know matter how bad it feels you can do it!!! :)
