Hello everyone I was wondering if anyone could help me out. I am 16 soon to be 17 and I love drinkign more than any other release. I drink about once a week and it allows me that great escape from the world and the way my brain feels when im sober (me and eye contact and self esteem). Am I an alcoholic? Even though i dont drink close to everyday? I dont know what to do about it. I love drinking so much, more than i love smoking marijuana. Should i stop drinking or do i have nothign to worry about?
Kinda like a cloud I was up, way up in the sky, and I was feeling some feelings you would'nt believe. Sometimes I don't believe them myself and I decided I was never coming down.

Alcohol fixed everything in my life. It made me 10 feet tall and bullet proof. I would have to be crazy not to go back to something that did all that for me, and did it fast. I loved it!
And I did go back to it. When I was a kid, I got away with it. I could get loaded or not. I had the choice.
Then one day, things changed, I wasn’t drinking because I wanted to, I was drinking because I had to.
When I hear you tell me “I love it more than anything else” I have no doubt that the answer to all your questions will become crystal clear in time.
And I don’t think you are going to like the answers you find. But you aren’t going to believe me. You will need to find that cold hard truth for yourself. And you will.

I suggest you attend some open AA meetings and just listen for a while. My website has links to find meetings all over the world. There is also a link for an online meeting.
You do not have to drink every day to be an alcoholic. I didn't, yet booze also killed me.
Good Luck,
Jim S

Hello friend, this is the most common thing seen in most of the guys of your age. They develop a habit of drinking or smoking at this age. In your case it’s drinking. You mentioned that you love drinking…right? I’m afraid; this very feeling can lead you to be an alcoholic. People often start drinking with the feeling that this will help them cope up with their daily hassles, make them feel light, help them forget their pains and this will solve their problems automatically. But this is not true. Too much drinking can actually cause great harm to ones own health. You too keep this in mind. Initially you may feel great, but in the long run, it can completely ruin your life. So be careful. I would suggest you to go for the AA meetings as well, as jims mentioned. And if you still don’t find that good, then go for some rehab programs. In that case I can give you more detailed information about this.
