I have pretty severe agoraphobia I got better for a little while and have severly relapsed along with many other areas in my life.
Im currently on 30mg citalopram, 30 mg Buspar
I dont find too much of a difference things are so severe I have to keep all the cyurtains shut because I cant bear to leave my bedroom otherwise.
So I just wondered if anyone else has taken any meds that helped?

I've been tried on Buspar and found it to be of no help whatsoever.

its kind aof a last ditch one ive tried a lot of other things and i think my psych is reluctant to put me on valium or more narcotics but I am really struggling to do anything. I can not even walk around the house with out all the curtains being closed or i feel uncomfortable and scared.
They upped my citalopram several times as it is supposed to help with anxiety at higher doses.

miirage,
I take a combination of Abilify, Remeron & Klonopin. I have mild agoraphobia...not as severe as yours. This is what helped me out.

I am avoidant/schizoid, which might as well be the same thing as agoraphobia (or perhaps I just have that, too). I hardly ever go out, but I wanted to report that I HAVE had pretty good results with Buspar for anxiety. When I have had to go out I have noticed (even on a small dosage) that I have experienced less anxiety. I'm no doctor and everyone is different, but this is the first thing that has ever seemed to work at all for me. Doesn't solve my problems, but it has definitely taken a little of the edge off.
