I'm 20 years old and I've suffered with anxiety since I was 9. At 13 I was diagnosed with depression and dropped out of school. From 13-17 I've been on/off agoraphobic and 18-20 (now) I have been completely housebound, sometimes I can't even leave my room.

Hi
I'm in my twenties and also have horrible agoraphobia/panic disorder, and have been very depressed as a result for years. I'd be more than happy to talk to you.

What treatment are you currently getting, and what is your support network like? Do you have friends around?

Hi, are you still around this site? I'm mostly housebound now, also have difficulty leaving my room sometimes as well. I would love to chat if you are up to it.

Hi there, I have dealt with agoraphobia on and off throughout the years. Recently I have had a very bad bout of it , like you I've had a hard time even leaving my room at times. I'm trying to navigate through this tough time as it seemed to have gotten worse over the past few months and thought I would reach out and try and form some friendships with people who struggle with the same issue. I know I can get through this because I've done it before with medication and therapy, but I think it's nice to have other people who truly understand what it feels like!

Same here. I can, and do (when I absolutely have to) leave the house, but right away my heart begins to race, I feel weird. The doctor put me on Klonopin that I only take when needed. It doesn’t fix it, but takes some of the edge off. Sort of calms a person down
