Can someone please explain why someone would have a "compulsive need" to always do that's that would make everyone hate them?

Like it's as if "everyone hates him" is the default "state/condition", and if it's not so, then they would do things to make everyone hate them to return to that state/condition

And if anyone does NOT hate them, that it just feels awkward/out-of-place... And so does things to make everyone hate them so ...
