how do you bring up the topic of odor?

Postby Snaga » Fri Jun 19, 2015 7:24 pm

As in... vaginal odor.....

Or am I just absolutely screwed, up $#%^ creek, doomed to failure?

I don't have the sex life I once did partly because of getting older, partly one or the other is tired, partly because for a while I was struggling with my bisexuality, but... the biggest reason, as someone has approached menopause, someone has gotten.... didn't used to smell like that. I mean, I have a sensitive nose- I ALWAYS knew, just by odor, when Snagina was about to menstruate. I'd know it before Snagina. But now that we are no longer regular, I don't know. It's.... Man how do I bring that up without just crushing her? She has self-image issues already. I hate this. I hate it. I keep hoping it'll get better but it's yet to. It's awful. I... I don't really need sex that much, but I worry I'm you know, letting her down. IDK. IDK. I've even fantasized about getting some of these OTC homeopathic remedies and trying to slip them to her like a mickey. Insane, i know. I just, how do you tell someone they smell bad?

Can you maybe suggest a shower together? Or you could say you find it hot to use baby wipes all over before? ...

Lots of things you could do.

-Give her a present. When she opens it, what is it? Vag wash
-Flat out tell her her puss stinks.
-Are you male or female? If you are also female, buy some wash for yourself and ask her if she wants to try it too
-If you are male, buy some and tell her your sister/mother/aunt/whatever bought some but they had an extra bottle and were wondering if she wanted it
-You can ask her if something is wrong. She says "what?" You say, "you smell" she says, "I do?" You say yes then suggest a doctor visit to make sure nothing is wrong.
-load her up with cranberry juice (Oh wait I think that's for a UTI  )

Well see that's the thing is not necessarily we need a mere shower.. Although the sooner after a really good shower, the better. This has only begin after her periods got highly irregular. Right before that time of month, things would, as Margaret Cho says in her standup routine, get 'gamey'. But just a little, and then we'd be back to normal after our period. Something's got to be out of balance, I'm hoping someone older also sees this post because I think it is linked to menopause. Something else for you younger gals to look forward to, I'm afraid, as if hot flashes weren't enough to make you excited about getting old...

Anyway yeah IM-Pure, I'm going to prolly suggest a nice shower together and I'll be sure the handheld shower hits everything real good. Still, I'd like to bring this up somehow in a general fashion because it ... Well, idk. It's pretty stout sometimes.

You know, it's funny, I've talked about plenty of things on PF that are personally embarrassing, or should be. I'm Bi. I'm just this side of gender-queer. I burn myself. But the hardest post I've made on here is this one. Ugh. Anyway I've tried hinting that The Change has caused things to change, but... I hate to just come out and say . I can't even post the words out loud, here. I can't stand talking about this. If I'M this embarrassed how do I not make her feel about one inch tall?

Hmm. I started this post before your reply, Chondro. I'm male. I might try some of those. She's not going to buy the someone didn't need it story, unless I get her mom involved. Hey, now that's an idea. Idk. Hmm. I may get her mom to give her something. In the PF banner ads is a homeopathic product available at drugstores. Get some have her mom come up with a cock and bull story.

Sounds like a plan to me. Chances are if you know she smells, she probably knows it too. She might find some relief in being handed a cleansing product you know? But if it really worries you, or her, a gyno visit might not be a bad idea. Is she due for a gyno visit for anything? Perhaps you could bring it up to him/her before the appointment to make sure he talks to her about it?

Well neither one of us like going to the dr, so... Be a hard sell and off then I'll be expected to go. Still trying to hold onto our youth, even though it's run out. Once we give in it'll be unending tests at our age. Things up your butt and down your throat and fighting off all the pills they're bribed into pushing on us depending on what the current fad is. Neither one of us is looking forward to that.

Idk how aware she is, I've a sensitive snout. On screening self test for aapergersi came just under being on the autism spectrum. So sometimes I think I have a little hypersensitivity going on. Still... the change had brought about a change...

Hi Snaga 2.0.
I have been researching this recently actually...and i have some good news. Some studies have shown that Vaginal odor is due to the PH inbalance in the body, therefor its fixable without hurting her feelings, its all about what we eat. Its said that "pineapple juice" pineapples AND citrus fruit are great for the balancing of our bodies PH, *hope she likes pineapple*

Apparently drinking pineapple juice / eating pineapples 3/4 hours before changes the taste of our bodies vaginal juices :)

things to avoid that day, Alcohol, garlic, onions, cauliflower, broccoli, cabbage, red meat

hope this helps , and good luck

Thanks for the reply... It's I've gotten the idea ph may be gone wonky, this has all been since entering what I assume are the early stages of menopause. Periods are extremely irregular, when we were regular it was not an issue usually. Something for all the younger readers to look forward to. I envy women but I draw the line at wanting to be one at periods. Don't envy that!

Yeah I need to look into some supplemented that purport to balance the ph, it's just bringing it up at all is going to be like traversing a minefield. That's the real problem behind the post...

Yes exactly, i understood that part.
PH imbalance is more common than you can imagine, so changing 3 coffee/teas a day for pineapple juice wont be hard to get away with, changing simple things like this means you might never need to enter the "minefield" at all

How do you subtly make someone drink pineapple juice....
