Sanitary products, environment and other issues...

Postby Manners73 » Tue Dec 24, 2019 6:21 pm

I'm not overly concerned about the environment in a sense that I know the universe will come to an end at some point, with or without my help but every month I am faced with the issue of whether to use more environmentally friendly feminine hygiene products.

I've even toyed with the idea of making my own. This is also about the cost of such products as well as anything else.

Has anyone here tried alternative products such as menstrual cups or has anyone even made their own products. I'd be really interested to find out.

I went through a period ( no pun intended ) of using cloth pads which I then washed as needed . It was much more labor intensive and messier . I was quite young at the time , like early 20s .

I gave it up after a while because ....early 20s . I didn't have the dedication necessary to keep it up . I've never tried the cup and now any need for it is long gone .

I've seen a few articles about sea sponges that look quite promising .

I think the cost of them is ridiculous as well.

Like I buy the cheapest there is and it's not because I'm in poverty. It's because I refuse to pay over the top prices for something that's so essential.
