trying to leave

Postby tiny450 » Fri Mar 23, 2018 6:39 pm

Am trying to save up enough to leave my abusive marriage and it is hard.Just when I think I have enough he breaks something or destroys something that it is imperative it get replaced or fixed( example one Sunday evening he came home drunk and proceeded to "play " plumper on the main water line..consequently had to call a plumper who enjoyed the cost, only one available the rest were not taking calls.Just one example..lawyers want an ungodly amount plus i am told once he is served to flee somewhere as he has threatened to burn the house down or shot the dog(one of many threats) I am working with the local domestic abuse shelter, medical community, police and counseling. He is an alcoholic who refuses help.I am told by the domestic abuse shelter and lawyers I have talked to that restraining orders in this state must encompass physical abuse it is very hard to get an restraining order for nonphysical abuse. Here in a local community we had a horrible situation where a mother of 3 was killed by her husband even with a restraining order,it happens allot here because of the restrictions. Physical abuse and it helps to have witnesses to collaborate.Law needs to be changed. In the meantime how to document emotional and verbal abuse( which of course occurs without witnesses is my question.thanks and have a great weekend .. :( :( :?:

Where are you, which country.

Are there any children

Do you have your own job

Do you jointly own the house.

Does he have a job

How long have you known him and how long have you been married.

Do you think he will become physically abusive at some time

I am sorry you are going through so much. Would you be prepared to leave him for good?
