Well done to whoever decided that anyone accessing help for Depression in an IAPT service can only be seen by someone with a Counselling for Depression Qualification if Counselling is seen as the most relevant modality.
So what this means is, all current counsellors, often with many, many years experience now have to pay a further £3000 to be 'taught' what they had already done in a Diploma, and likely been delivering for years and years. Or IAPT services already pressed financially have to pay or lose a day a week for all their counsellor to attend the course.
Some of the agencies I am an affiliate with now have to turn away requests to assist with burgeoning waiting lists because of this.
Brilliant, just brilliant!
