Intolerance

Hello, I am new here. Firstly, I don't wish to discuss politics because I know it's not allowed on here.

I first joined the *mod edit* forum, *mod edit*. It was alright at first. I spoke to some knowledgeable people about Autism in the general discussion. I've only recently been diagnosed with Autism (Aspergers) and I've been feeling depressed as of late.

Anyway, their site has a "Politics" section so I thought I'll post in there. I asked if "Nationalists were accepted on here". I have nationalist views - nothing sinister, just ordinary center-left, strong border stuff. I'm not a globalist, but I don't begrudge anyone who is. I enjoy having open, civil debates with people who don't agree with me. Isn't that the whole point of a debate? We must learn from each other. Skip a few moments later, I was ostracised by the moderators and was banned from the site. I took a screenshot of their comments because I found them very intolerant and nasty. I wasn't provoking anyone and none of my views were offensive.

They shouldn't be running a politics section when they can't accept non-leftist ideas. If I was a sensitive individual, perhaps younger, I would have found that feeling of ostracisation from a so-called "inclusive" community very hurtful. It's like saying "you can't be yourself because you have the 'wrong' views" or "we don't like you because you're different".

I realise this is a rant, but I see it happening too often throughout western society. It is open discrimination and I think it sets a very bad precedent for the future. I see more and more people, especially young people, feeling ostracised for having perfectly reasonable ideas. I think the general population needs to listen more. Just because we disagree doesn't mean we hate each other.

Reason: need to leave names out of it, thanks
