Does anyone know if somatization disorder could account for symptoms of pseudo tumor: increased CSF fluid build-up and pressure? My sister was diagnosed a few years ago with pseudotumor and had 3 surgeries for shunts now- all had problems with them. She has some mental health issues- co-dependency, anxiety, panic attacks. With so many questionable symptoms and no real answers, I'm wondering if it could be somatization. Recently, she was told she had an infection of her spinal fluid, but then the next day it "seemed to have cleared." She does have actual changes in her spinal fluid pressure that require lumbar punctures (spinal taps). She had a baby 3 months ago, and things have gotten worse since then. She's been hospitalized and basically bed-ridden since a few days after the birth. She's been to several neurosurgeons, and now even the best one in the city is unsure of a treatment plan (at least this is what she reports to us). I work in the medical field, and her account of appointments and report of symptoms never sound right to me... and always a little questionable. Any insight would be beneficial. Thanks in advance.

Hi i'm Gwenn
For every person it is a little different. Me personally i have joint issues but some people get very sick, headaches, just knee issues. But the problem there real reason why that it is happening to you if you know what i mean. Like your sick everyday for 2 months then please notifey your doctor. But its very hard to diagnose someone with Somatoform disorder because every person is different.
