Facial twitching when smiling

Postby letsgomartin » Fri Jun 30, 2017 11:32 pm

Hi,

I have tremors, and the GP says it's due to my Tourettes.
But I haven't told him about something that I notice keep happening: When I smile for a certain period, my facial muscles keep vibrating/twitching. It's more specifically my cheek muscles, but it might also be some muscles around my mouth. It's very frustrating because whenever it happens I immediately prevent myself from smiling in a situation where it would actually be inappropriate not to smile. I can't go into details about it unless I know someone out there wants to talk to me about this issue. I have many times written to the Tourette Association of America (TAA) but they didn't even bother replying. I gave so many details and a description of my issues, and no reply. In my eyes that is so disgustingly disrespectful, why even make a "contact us" to people with Tourette's?
Anyway. Thanks for caring. Looking forward for a reply.

//Martin.

First, I would tell your GP. They may refer you to a Neurologist or other specialist.
Best of luck to you. :D

Hey
thanks for the reply. I have planned to do so, but the thing is I posted here in this "Tourette's section" to see if any other people with the diagnosis of Tourette's have experienced similar co-symptoms. Of course I can not make any scientific conclusions or associations based on the evidence of "forum replies". But personally I just really want to know, since it can hint me towards an answer.

So I'm staying in the forum to seek some replies before I attempt to do other things!
