My therapist is going on maternity leave

Postby Toby333 » Fri Dec 09, 2016 1:42 pm

Hey everyone,

I really like my therapist. I feel like I have such a good connection with her. I know there's boundaries to the relationship, and sometimes I carefully try to ask her how she's doing. To my surprise, she is usually pretty open about it.
She's going on maternity leave soon, and I want to buy her a bottle of wine. I was wondering if this would be inappropriate. I personally feel like she'd appreciate it, but after reading online about giving your therapist gifts I got kind of discouraged.

I'd like to hear your opinion,

Thanks in advance :)

The problem with developing a personal relationship with your therapist is that it can interfere with the productivity and objectivity of the therapy.
