I'm not schizophrenic, only depressed if anything, but I'll add my responses since a few seem to be outside of the "norm."

Plate 1) Bat

2) 2 of Santa's elves butting heads....looks like they cut their ankles. haha

3) 2 people dancing at a party

4) Another bat, but this one has his head on the bottom of the image

5) Butterfly

6) Vulva/female genitalia

7) 2 girls with their butts touching and looking over their shoulders at each other, like they're dancing

8) Human organ like a heart

9) Human organ like the lungs (can you tell I've NEVER taken an anatomy class? haha)

10) 2 blue crabs and 2 red lobsters surrounded by colorful shells

So, according to the information on the website, if I don't see "normal" things like sexual images in every daggum picture, then I will be deemed mentally retarded or as having a mental disorder. Whoever designed that and came up with such nonsense is a pervert seeking validation of his perversion. Idiot.

Not schizophrenic but I do have psychosis as a part of my bipolar.
Frankly I agree with the idea of the Rorschach test being outdated and inaccurate but I always thought it would be fun to take the test anyways just to see what happened so here are my answers.

1) Tarantula with butterfly wings
2) Face with large mustache/beard
3) The head of an army ant
4) The skin of a dead chicken
5) Butterfly
6) The skin of a dead cat
7) Clouds
8) Small lions climbing up some vertebrates
9) Not really sure although the first thing I thought of was antlers because of the spiky part at the top.
10) A lot of little creatures, germs maybe.
Dx: Bipolar II w/ psychosis, panic disorder w/ agoraphobia, Borderline personality traits

Bored here so I thought Id give this a shot.

1. A black angel coming out of smoke
2. A pair of lungs that have 'black lung' and are bleeding.
3. An evil face, fed eyes and nose.
4. Looking up at a large demon from ground level.
5. A wicked moth.
6. That one really makes no sense to me.
7. A pair of thumbs up.
8. I see a face that looks like its wearing some sort of armored helmet and weird chest plate and arms.
9. A dragon face breathing fire.
10. Sort of looks like a bug splat on a windshield in spring time.

I doubt most of my responses make any sense lol.

There were so many responses to this thread that I couldn't weed thru all to see if anyone commented on the validity/reliability of Rorschach tests?

When I took it 8 years ago, I was said that each one looked like a pelvis and vertebrae, which they do - to me anyway! I told my examiner that I don't generally notice symbolism in visual stuff, like art, but as a balanced scheme that makes sense to me, or doesn't - which is also true. This is very funny and off character to me, since I'm probably compliant to a fault with authority figures.

I believe this is one of the reasons I was given a label of "avoidant," among other things. But that's ok, I think Rorschach is not very good "science." Really depends on how they are interpreted and by whom. I didn't mind others reading my interpretations of words or illustrations of people, but didn't like the idea of submitting my free association to strangers. It was an honest response, so if it was taken into account as a behavior, that's fine with me.

I'm scheduled for neuro-psych workup, so I will probably be administered Rorschach... I'm VERY tempted to look at the images to be "prepared," but am curious to see how I respond to the situation 8 years later.

This was a really fun thread!

That doesn't mean I have the opposite of a full-blown PD, if you get my drift.

Again, sorry if this was covered earlier - I haven't read the entire thread.

An often-told story about Rorschach's inkblots tells of a psychotherapist who is administering the test to a client. With the first inkblot card the therapist asks, "What does this suggest to you?" The client replies, "Sex." The same question is asked of the second card, to which the client again replies, "Sex." When the same one-word answer is given to the first five cards, the therapist remarks, "Well, you certainly seem to be preoccupied with sex!" To this the surprised client responds, "Me? Doctor, you're the one showing all the dirty pictures!"
