Male body dissatisfaction

Postby robgraham91 » Fri Jun 27, 2014 7:35 am

Hello everyone,

The aim of this piece of research is to investigate people's attitudes towards themselves and to their bodies, specifically what factors (e.g. self-esteem, involvement in sport and exercise) can be utilised to predict bodily dissatisfaction, particularly in older groups of men.

Previously it has been thought that this issue was unique to women. However, research now suggests that males experience bodily dissatisfaction, notably a desire to be more muscular than their current physique. The link for the survey is here:

https://www.survey.lboro.ac.uk/mscproject

Please take 10 minutes of your time to complete this survey, the results will be used to help shed light on age relevant risk factors and expand the knowledge of bodily dissatisfaction. Please only complete this survey if you are 18 or above and male.

If you have any questions please feel free to ask. A summary of the research will be available on here in mid September when it is completed.

Thank you in advance for your help!

A big thank you to everyone who has already completed the survey so far. If you haven't completed it already, and are male and over the age of 18, please take ten minutes to complete the survey. I am incredibly grateful for giving up your time to help me with this interesting piece of research. The link is below:

This survey is also being endorsed by a national charity called Men Get Eating Disorders Too. See below for details of both the work that the charity do and the research I am conducting.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

Best wishes,

Rob
