Smokyjo, you are correct to point out that some people with mental health disorders do masturbate a lot, but in no way can masturbation cause any psychiatric illness. As I said previously, if it did there would be overwhelming evidence for this theory.
In the case of "Traumatic masturbatory syndrome" (btw. great name for the problem!) the problem of desensitising the penis is something that would mainly affect young men with way too much testosterone flooding their systems. I suppose there may be some men who do not grow out of the habit but I think they would be a rarity as hormone levels decline as you get older.

:?: Out of curiosity; what ages are the people who said they were suffering from this problem?
:?: Are there any women who have had similar problems?

January, are you sure you are doing it right? I don't think it's your back you are supposed to rub. :?

and?

After masturbating became an online issue everyone always caution to always use a lube. As I came across masturbation on my on I had no instructions and always did it dry. Later I found that a red silk slip that belonged to a lady I was doing house work for did real well and increased the orgasm so much that I fell asleep right afterwards(and was caught but thats another story). I still go dry quite often but always try to keep baby powder around. I have gone through periods where it took me forever to cum with a female but I never considered that a bad thing if it didn't hurt her.
You can always get her to help you afterwards. One of my best night is when my girl got me hard and then told me she couldn't and had a cold so it wasn't an oral night either. When I said she was cruel she ripped my belt, dropped my zipper and put my hand on it and start the motions while observing from about an inch away. She had me do it all while she watch and helped at the last second to keep from getting everything sticky. Not only that but it started an entire new level of mutual mas., phone sex ...

I kmow I went on a tangent with this but use what you cna.

TMS is not all that uncommon. Still, it can mess up your ability to have regular sex with another person. Most likely what will happen is you will get a severe form of delayed or retarded ejaculation when you try to have regular vaginal or oral sex because the stimulation offered by this kind of sex will be so different than what you have grown used to while masturbating.

You will have to wean yourself off this unique method of self masturbation or you will be in for a lifetime of lousy sex with others. You won't be able to orgasm/ejaculate no matter how hot your partner is. Check out the Situational Retarded Ejaculation thread in the Sexual Dysfunctions forum on this website. Retarded Ejaculation is a nightmare and almost impossible to cure. You said you are young so you still have time to change. The better thing to do would be to quit masturbating altogether so you won't be tempted to use your impossible-to-reproduce-with-a-partner method of reaching orgasm.

Do you really expect a teenage boy to stop masturbating altogether?

Perhaps not but he MUST do it with a light touch, trying to reproduce the gentle tug he will get with a vagina or oral sex. Retarded Ejaculation can get so severe that man men who suffer from it give up on partner sex altogether out of sheer frustration and rely exclusivly on masturbation for sexual release. Many men get it just from too much "normal" masturbation, sometimes combined with heavy porn use. TMS much, much worse than either of these common causes of RE.

I have found some information suggesting that regular ejaculations help keep your prostate gland healthy.
Take a look at www.healthandage.com/PHome/gm=0!gc=28!gid2=2851 .
It would appear that from a health point of view doctors should be encouraging regular masturbation  .
A useful site on the subject of masturbation and T.M.S. is www.healthystrokes.com .
Perhaps it would be a good idea if safe methods of masturbation were taught as part of normal school sex education classes.
