Drugs and Porn

Postby rhoadesd » Wed Aug 22, 2018 10:52 pm

This isn't a very serious post, but was curious if anyone else uses weed or other drugs while watching porn or during sex? Even better combo for me is *mod edit*. I find it increases the tactile sensations by 3 times compared to when sober and that new types of porn (legal kinds) become alluring that I never would've thought of masturbating to while sober. I even develop new, out of this world fetishes when I'm high.

My routine almost every late night is to get high, set my computer beside me on bed and browse and masturbate to porn for 1-2 hours before sleeping. It doesn't cut into my daily productive routine such as school, work, errands, etc. However, I sometimes feel that it may be bad in long run, such as making me desensitized to sexual things when I'm sober and finding it harder to get turned on by a real woman. Plus the porn itself acts as a drug and is additive with all the other drugs I use. A double effect of dopamine rush.

Any thoughts or experiences from others? I have BPD and PTSD and was sexually abused by mom and step dad at young age, so maybe this is my coping mechanism these days as I find it hard to be intimate with other women or trust them.

I sometimes use pot when I have sex. It does make things feel better, for me, but also pot makes me feel horny and so if I am already high I am more likely to want to have sex. Sometimes I will get high because I know, or think, I'll be having sex, but most of the time I am high already and then I want to have sex.

Great! I get very horny too! When sober it's hard for me to get horny anymore.

I as well when I smoke pot I get extremely horny. I find myself on the PC even before the buzz kicks in. Even having female friends getting high with me and ending up masturbating together while we watch porn together. At the time and before I never feel the emptiness, it always after, even if I'm with a female or by myself.
I truly hate the after math feeling. But I'm thinking anyone who uses drugs while having sex does feel more sensitivity and pleasure, but the truth is it's the drugs that fool you into thinking it's better. When really it is the same.

This is triggering.

I thought this forum was supposed to be about RECOVERY from sexual addiction.
You guys sound like you’re promoting drugs and sex. I want both after reading this.

But being an addict, that would kill me.

I haven’t used drugs in almost 30 years, but I want to. Oblivion would bring so much relief. Even had a therapist who told me a drink or two would take the edge off.
I e spent years helping others recover and always taught that you can’t treat addiction with drugs.

I have definitely used weed and another drug while viewing porn which was a bad combination for me. I could not get to sleep, my heart was racing.

Some users here are describing the good/ bad side effects or "aftermath" of such an addiction. Please note, TonyS, that most posters here acknowledge that there is a downside to their addiction(s)--perhaps such posts can act as a deterrent for other users reading this thread. I hardly think this is a promoting of drug/porn addictions. You can't put a bandaid (addiction) on a long festering problem, which may be more in one's head than down there and often stems from how one was treated as a child by his/her family members.

Kudos to you for your long sobriety and for the help you have provided others in their recovery from addiction, btw.

I have used meth off and on for 2 yrs and the feeling it gives sexually is like 20 x's the arousal without the drug. I'm not condoning it but I am looking at porn or trying to hookup until I come down.

Meth is one of the most tricky drugs because it messes with your fantasy life (at least some experts claim so). At least the "out of this world" fantasies mentioned in the OP sound like what's typical for chemsex with meth when done over a long time. I've seen friends get very socially isolated and completely unable to have any gratifying sexual experience without the drug and everything associated with it. I hope the OP got help by now, but there's an interesting self help book about this called "Lust, Men, and Meth: A Gay Man's Guide to Sex and Recovery" (David Fawcett).
