How you cant tell anyone, or talk to anyone about it, because of fear of taken advantage of yet again. You feel like you have to keep it inside

You have to choose safe places and safe people to talk about it to. If you have a problem with addiction, it isn't good to keep it inside.
When I drank, I lost all of my good judgement. When I was sober, I felt like I was missing out. It was my pattern. No one invited me to social get-togethers anymore and I was alone at the end.
Asking for help was probably the most difficult thing I ever did, but looking back on it, it was also a great relief to finally admit and accept my problem. I kept the secrets and shame inside for years and it was killing me. I was so afraid of anyone finding out.
This forum is a fairly safe and anonymous venue to discuss these topics. An SA meeting and counseling is also supposed to be safe and anonymous.
I think that face-to-face help is the best, but I also think that this is a great place for advice. Please get the help that you need.
Best of luck to you. :D

I’m afriad of my family finding out. But maybe they’d still accept me.
My big fear is I’m also in recovery in NA and I do t want those people to find out.
I’ll be ridiculed. Drama news gossip travels fast in NA. I don’t have a sponsor anymore, couldn’t trust him. He has issues and accused me of screwing his ex-girlfriend. Just because we were both at a common freinds birthday party and he wasn’t invited.
I keep reading that I should talk to someone. I explained to my doctor I was depressed, but I couldn’t tell a stranger I’m addicted to sex.
A few people told me I should see a professional, but I don’t know where to start, no money and no benefits.

Many of us deal with more than one addiction and they can intertwine. I had to stop alcohol, but I also had to stop everything else that I did when I drank, or I would drink again.
It can be a tangled web we weave.
Don't be concerned with telling a stranger about what is going on. A doctor is a professional and the 12-step programs have an oath of anonymity. Your identity and details should be kept confidential.
This is risky behavior. There are vice arrests and STDs to worry about. At that point, your anonymity may be blown and everyone will know. Don't risk it.
We are all strangers once. Then if you feel at ease, it helps to lighten the burden by sharing. I found out ways to deal with my problems by listening to others. I could never have gotten better on my own.
Best of luck to you. :D

Nobody really understands what it's like and it's a taboo topic to talk about. Plus the only cure is not total abstinence which works well for other addictions.

It is a topic many people don't want to discuss, at least honestly and openly. I told a good friend about my addiction and his response was "your gay, all gays are addicted." Sigh.

The worst part of being a sex addict is ... finding people who can satisfy my addiction. Most people are either too ugly or too fat to satisfy my sexual desires.

Getting the biggest thrill by chasing the impossible dream. I used to think my sex addiction could be satisfied by the the sex act itself, then I came to realize that a big part of my addiction is caught up in the chase. The endless chase is the worst part, but it is actually the best part too. Oh, life would be so boring if there was not some fear and uncertainty baked in.

The worst part about being a sex addict is
... the drug use that can accompany or even fuel the sexual encounters. When with a like-minded sexual partner these encounters very often last for an entire day and sometimes even longer. I have found that the euphoric excitement associated with most aspects of this type of sexual activity is a habit that has been particularly difficult to break over the years.

The worst part is, with or without sex there seems to never be any resolve to it. It's not like you can just go through withdrawal and get better. The feeling and temptation is always there. Nothing is ever enough. And if you're a female, society doesn't see it as being "OK"
