Imaginary Friends

Postby QuietStorm » Thu Jan 15, 2009 2:10 am

When I was growing up, I never had any imaginary friends. Just out of curiosity, did you? I think it's kind of strange that I've created an entire world inside my mind, but never created another companion. I 'interact' with other people in my mind, but I don't see them as friends.

I used to pretend I had enemies I had to trek 6 miles into the woods to slay....but that hardly counts as a friend.
Do you spend a lot of time in this world of yours?

I don't recall having one, to be exact. Cannot recall much of my childhood.

I do get personas now though. In many forms. Sometimes people I've just talked to will follow me home in my head and I will chat to them. Or a part of me chats to them, until I point out how mad that is. I will even sort of see them, like something you can't stop seeing in your imagination (like snot when you are eating salad).

Other times my mind splits into two and I chat. One side will adopt a persona like Satan, mostly. He seems to be psychic too. But then I am crazy :D

I sometimes refer to myself in the third person. But I'm not really a friend to myself. (that's because I hate you, albie!)

I spend a good portion of my day in this world of mine.. practically every day.

I've never really had imaginary enemies either, but have wondered who my nemesis is. I'm sure there's an anti-"quietstorm" out there somewhere, but maybe my nemesis only exists in my mind.

*For some reason (in the past few days) I've tried replying, but there was a technical error. Hope this posts. I'll get back to the other threads when I'm able. ~Storm

I only started to detect any animosity towards me in my own mind when I was in my twenties and thirties. Trying to break away from my inner world may have caused it, maybe not. I think it is because I have stopped hating people so much. It has turned on me now.

I never had imaginary friends but I used to have imaginary conversations in my head with people who I knew but wasn't actually friends with. I guess I felt that if I had an imaginary conversation with them in my head then it would prepare me to be able to converse with them when I saw them in person.

Oh I just love this part of the forum. The aspiring sociopaths on this site are just plain boring - and all they ever talk about is mass murder, beating people up or world domination. Gotta love schizotypals.

Yes I had imaginary friends. Quite a bit of them actually. I still have entities or spirits which live inside my head.
