Is having derealization all the time a symptom of schizotyp?

Postby idonotdoit » Mon Nov 05, 2018 12:19 am

Since i was 15 i have had derealization (feeling the world and myself is unreal) all the time, only sometimes worse and sometimes a little better, but it is always there in some degree.

I dont have this diagnose, but i have always wondered why i feel unreal all the time and why this feeling never gone away even tought it is several years ago now..

So I read on wikipedia that it says derealication is a symptom of schizotypal, so i was wondering is it true that everyone with schizotypal have this problem of derealization 24/7?
:)

I am sure it's possible to have it but it's not specifically in the criteria unless it fits under unusual perceptual experiences, including bodily illusions. I have seen it mentioned with that criteria.

That being said, this community is fairly small. You may want to also ask your question on reddit, which, is also a small community. I'm not sure there are any big Schizotypal communities.

But in wikipedie it says that one of the criteria is derealzetion/depersonalization, so how can you say that it is not a criteria?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schizotyp ... y_disorder

"Unusual perceptual experiences including somatosensory (bodily) or other illusions, depersonalization or derealization;"

Because Wikipedia does not state the criteria exactly. I included a link for the current criteria from the ICD 11. Unfortunately, the DSM5 doesn't have an online version but in review, I was not able to find depersonalization/derealization under Schizotypal either.

Had the ICD-11 come into effect yet officially?

Under the ICD-10, depersonalisation and derealisation are part of the criteria and as such, many that have been diagnosed up to the current date will have that as part of their PD.

Anorexia Nervosa (F50)
Substance Abuse (F11)

But if you've made your peace, then the devils are really angels, freeing you from the earth. It's just a matter of how you look at it, that's all
