I'm actually applying for a kitchen job tomorrow, you can send that heart to naps. Can't wait for the grand moment when naps snaps. We all know how much he hates cooks.

But in all honestly, I do hope to move to the waiting team within a month or so.

I didn't realize naps was so generous with PF's invisible rating system.

I don't blame him about chefs. I try not to be bitter, but my ex husband was a chef. Every time I hear a guy brag about his cooking skills I cringe.

Good luck though. Kitchen work is an extremely stressful job.

It's a cakewalk compared to serving.

Oh yeah definitely nicer not having to deal with the angry customers who are yelling that the order is wrong or something of that nature.

I'd like to be better able to justify my lack of… enthusiasm? To myself, and others.

Strange childhood stories?

I was in this shopping mall. Close to my house. My mom gave me some money to play with a machine, but when I came back she wasn't there. I made three laps around the whole place and nothing. I think I started crying and a nice lady came up and because my mom didn't show up escorted me home.

When we got there I think my dad slammed the door and said to me that I shouldn't trust a stranger and that woman is "weird" and she might have done something bad to me.. and I was thinking "wtf, she was just kindly escorting me home". In retrospect, she treated me better than he ever did.

That's awful. Did your mom reprimand you too? My mom used to do similar things where she'd claim she gave me instructions and I'd be in trouble for "doing the opposite of what was told"

I do have a hearing issue, but realized she did it intentionally when others (including my dad) told me they never heard her say those things. One good thing was I normally my dad at least backed me up if he heard her say things like that. Got worse when dad went on certain meds that made him groggy. Made for a very paranoid household when no one felt they could completely count on anyone.
