An important friendship ended, can't move on

Postby iwanttolearn » Wed Jul 11, 2018 5:07 am

Hello, a friend recently put me on mute, and it's been over 2 weeks. Safe to assume that the friendship is over. I'm not feeling too sad about it, I'm not angry at all. But it's definitely been bothering me and I can't seem to move on.

Would it be too much to ask if non-cliche advice was posted here? Thank you.

I guess the part I hate the most is that I keep praying that the friend will return to me, I'm fooling myself

It's hard when there's no closure. I've been ghosted before. You might try the trick of writing a letter and *not* sending it. If you know why you're being ghosted, you might want to address that. If this is really unresolveable then my advice is: just try really, really hard not to contact this person, to respect their right not to engage with you. Good luck.

No closure sucks. It makes both sides feel like something else should have been done. Chances are unless cornered they won't allow any confrontation. Even then they could easily try to wriggle out by saying "Oh gee, it's been so busy...(blablabla).

All I can add is be glad you don't have any negative emotions over it other than wishing it could have ended more maturely.
