Poetry is a great stress reliever and can say a lot about the 'bared soul'. I strongly encourage it.
I used to write very sad poetry that I called woe-etry. I also doodled in the margins.
Some of it made sense and some of it didn't, although it all must have made sense in some way at the time of inception.
There are online literary and writer sharing sites if you Google them. I cannot recommend any specifically as I have never tried them. Maybe the Poetry Corner here can be fired up?
Best of luck to you. :D

your local library may have a poetry group. and other organisations have poetry groups too. for example, i attend my local quaker poetry group. find just one and chances are you'll tap into a whole network. however, by far the best way to improve is to read the work of others that you admire.
something knocked me out' the trees
now i'm on my knees
... don't you know you're gonna shock the monkey

there is one thing you must be sure of
i can't take any more
... don't you know you're gonna shock the monkey

don't like it but i guess i'm learning

... shock the monkey to life
