A way to stop the Panic

I am not new to the feelings of (Read with caution, not to elicit the panic)
"black vail of non-stop insanity that I am going to die" You Will be okay. once it passes that is..
I have never known a worse experiance in my life, I am no doctor and I don't feel i need to be to share a method I learned via CBT (Cognitive Behav. Therapy) it goes like this;

When you feel it coming on, the heart pounding, hot flash of OMG, think

"Okay, I will give you 5-10 minutes to Panic. Then, it can stop. You may have a few minutes. Do your best."

It's your mind, though, you cannot often control this onslaught of -hell-, allowing yourself time to accept it has, amazingly, made a panic attack of mine subside. And NOTHING besides medicine has EVER before made it stop in years.
Panic is not known to anyone except those which have had them. We are called names, because of the idiots that live in a world of blah, never knowing that they too have issues.
