Injuries

Postby LoneSheWolf » Fri Feb 18, 2022 6:53 pm

Hi there,

I have been having nightmares, sleep terrors , paralysis and episodes of sleep walking. The former are all pretty horrific but the sleep walking can be amusing ( for others , I still find it frightening)

But recently I’ve been waking up with injuries- what looked like a finger tip sized burn mark on my forehand between my eyes ,
- a huge bruise on my throat as if I had been strangled

I guess I’m just trying to find out if anyone has experienced such random injuries when they wake ? If they were common bruises from bumping into things then I’d understand that more but the things I wake up with are just weird and I can’t imagine what I’d be doing to create them ?

I take it you meant to say (predictive text can be a butthole) a burn on your forehead, yes? Between the eyes?

And you woke up like that?

Do you live with anyone that would have done that?

Have you found yourself sleep-walking away from your home? I mean, leaving home in your sleep?

Given the stuff you mentioned in your other threads.. the way your family life grew more frightening, the fact you've been told you have CPTSD...

Do you have chunks of missing time when awake?

I live on my own, I’ve woken up in different rooms in my house but I don’t know if I’ve ever left the building before. It’s definitely possible. I used to sleep naked but after being seen standing at the fridge chewing on a grapefruit, I’ve started wearing clothes to bed!!

Sometimes I get a weird vibe from receptionists at hotels after I’ve stayed for a few nights and I’m wondering if I’ve gone walkabout and done some mad stuff. Could be paranoia but my intuition is rarely wrong.

Could I really be strangling myself in my sleep so strongly as to make big bruises?? WTF?? What sort of person tries to murder themselves in their sleep ??

What kinda freak am I ???

A complicated freak- comes from being Human.

If you also complained of missing time during the day, I'd be tempted to suggest perusing DID and seeing if anything strongly resonates with you. But if not, we'll stick to sleep disorders. I've heard of folks with rare sleep disorders that cause them to do odd things in their sleep. Maybe seeing some kind of sleep specialist would be a good idea.
