Does food make benzos like diazepam effective or ineffective

At my previous address I was prescribed a pathetic dose of diazepam/valium (2 mg tablets) so about 6mg-8mg then it was increased to 15mg which is still a low dose. Now I've moved to another city & the doc has prescribed 20-30mg of valium ( 10mg tablets). I take a little bit more around 30-35mg. I even take 40mg sometimes BUT it's not working! I don't feel any effect & I think it has something ...

Ketamine

I just started Ketamine infusion therapy for my depression and anxiety. I have my second infusion today, but I'm feeling a difference after the first infusion. I'm praying this works, I'm treatment resistant and have tried everything for the last twenty years.
I would love to hear from anyone that's gone thru this treatment. :)

Feeling worse when starting a new drug means it will work?

I have tried six different antidepressants and four different mood stabilizers. The first five ADs and the first three mood stabilizers gave me plenty of side effects, but didn't affect me depression in any way, neither for better or worse. The sixth AD however, Cymbalta, made me feel more depressed when I started taking it, and also with every dosage increase. But it turned out to be the AD that finally made me feel better, ...

Should I be trying higher doses before switching meds?

I suffer from a spectrum of personality disorders. The strongest is probably avoidant. Then you tack on anti-social and borderline to that. Also have ADHD pretty bad.

The ADHD was causing some pretty severe issues with focus at work. Tried Adderall, and it did nothing. Then I got on Vyvanse 30mg (lowest dose), and definitely felt it, but not strongly enough. Stepped up to 50mg (middle dose) and that did the trick. The amazing thing ...

Fluxetine?

My boyfriend has recently been prescribed Bioxetin (fluoxetine). He's been taking 1/4 of a 20mg pill for four days, then half a pill for the next four days and now he's on a whole pill. My question is, how fast will he be able to notice any positive results?

Also do you guys have any experience with possible side effects of fluoxetine? He's been reading up on the internet about it and is really... Freaked ...

Injectable medications

My goal is to make all of my medications monthly injectables.

I have prescriptions for antipsychotic, antidepressant, and antianxiety.

Antipsychotic = Ability or Invega

Antidepressant = I've Googled and found that Tofranil seems to be the only monthly injectable

Antianxiety = Google tells me that there are monthly injectables for Xanax, Valium, Ativan, Librium, and Vistaril. I currently have a prescription to Vistaril and would like to stay on it if possible as the injectable. ...

Need advice on clozapine

I have been on olanzapine for about 5 years. In the beginning it was fantastic. It used to make me calm and tranquil. Now I seem to have lost those effects. This happened after my last hospitalization which may have had something to do with it. In the hospital I was given olanzapine 15mg in the morning and 15mg at night with 6mg paliperidone in the afternoon. Now I take only olanzapine 20mg at night. ...

finding a doc to help with withdrawal?

Hello, does anyone know I can find a doctor to help me withdraw from Xanax and Prozac (which I have been doing on my own)? Most docs, as you know, just want to medicate you more.

Amytriptyline

Hi All: I'm new and wondering if anyone else has had something similar happen while taking Amytriptyline.

I've been on Effexor for years and years for depression and anxiety, but last year I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia. Dr. had me take 25 mg. of amytriptyline. It helped with sleep and with pain, but began to start fading away. About 6 or 8 weeks ago I upped the dose to 50 mg. Dr. said that was ...
