Uneasy About Malignant Narcissist Mom and Sister

For almost 5 months now, I've gone no contact after coming to the painful realization that my incredibly psychotic, annoying, and evil mother and sister are malignant narcissists (sister being the golden child of the family).

Learning this ugly truth about them is in a way liberating to know what's REALLY going on with them since previously I always had felt anger and frustration towards them but never really knew what their problem was and ...

Help & Advice

Ok, this is over the last 8 years and the last 3 have been getting far worse. I must admit I always thought it was me, however in the last few weeks I have been reading up on NPD and Sociopaths and Disorders and the NPD stuff I have been reading, I just look at it and think "thats Her, she does that" and "thats me, the victim", not a survivor yet as I am ...

I found out today my parent is in a psychiatric hospital, admitted against her will about 2 months ago. This is not the first time. She was diagnosed with schizophrenia and bipolar about 12 years ago, and she moved back to Brazil before it all got quite bad.

I'm a British citizen, my mum lived in the UK for 20 years, married to a British citizen for about 10 of those years. She is ...

Dependant adult child what to do?

I have a girlfriend that I have been dating for about 5 years. Her son has a degree in engineering that she paid for, from an Ivy League college. She has said to me many times that she wish he had been more aggressive with his career as he had never had a job that required a degree. He married a woman that graduated with a doctorate degree about 4 years ago. They now have ...

Major Depressive Disorder...learning.

I recently got involved in a new relationship with an amazing, caring, loving woman. She has major depressive disorder and is 32 years old and lives with her parents and is on disability for it. She works occasionally part time when she can and is often busy around the house. While this is all new for me, I didn't want to give up on her because I understand battling demons in the mind as I ...

Called Mom after 3 years not talking. *mod edit*

A little background:
Parents got divorced when I was 3. Mom had primary custody so I lived with her and stepdad. Mom was hateful, abusive, and a religious fanatic. Abuse was mostly verbal but sometimes physical. She would usually sic the stepdad on us for the physical part.

My 2 sisters haven't spoken to her in 5 years. About 3 years ago I confronted Mom about our past and she offered a somewhat fake apology. ...

Mask was kept for 18 years, how?

SO, I've been into this madness that I had no idea existed for the last 2.5 years. The toll it is taking on me is so much that, although I can't get out of this world because I have kids, I haven't been to the doctor for a check-up in 3 years because just in case I have something, I don't wanna treat it and just wanna die naturally.
My husband of 12 years is ...

NPD family member

I believe my sister has NPD, but she won't see a medical professional to be diagnosed. She is 34, living with our parents and one of our younger sisters in their apartment, and has been increasingly volatile in the last several months. She has always been "off", but our dad has always seen her behavior as "a phase," and has never pressed the issue that she see someone.

In the last few months, she has ...

MIL has Munchausen?? (LONG post; need advice)

Hello! I created an account here just to ask this question. I apologize in advance for the long post.

(Abstract/tl;dr: I think my seriously traumatized mother-in-law has Munchhausen or some similar factitious disorder, whereby she actually believes she has non-genetic amyloidosis, and is convinced she is going to die "soon". She has put my wife and I, and everyone else around her, through a year of emotional hell, intentionally or otherwise. Looking for input, support, ...
