Diagnosed & Confused

I'm a 37 year old female and I was recently diagnosed with this confusing disorder. Here is what happened....

Approx. 4 weeks ago I began having slight numbness in my left foot and lower leg. I also would have episodes of painful tingling sensations in my left foot that resembled being bitten by ants.
Over the next 2 weeks, I began noticing that I seemed more clumsy than normal. I began frequently tripping over ...

Is this normal?

I was just diagnosed with conversion disorder last week, and I'm still in shock. I am 26 years old, and have always been pretty healthy. For about 6 months, I have had trouble opening doors, getting in and out of cars, ect. One month ago I collapsed at work. I was driven to my family doctor, who sent me to the local emergency department. They ordered a battery of tests and sent me home. I ...

I Had Some Good News Too, Re DLA

Well last week I was in the Scottish Highlands on holiday and I came back to find an award letter for DLA on my doormat.

I've been awarded low rate care and high rate mobility which I was stunned at, I haven't had to appeal or anything and it's been very easy. It also made me think about the state I'm in and it's now kind of "official" but hey I'll live with it.

Hi all,

Last September the psychiatrist I saw outlined a treatment plan in his report to try and get me back on my feet (I've been using a wheelchair since June last year) and today I'm having an assessment with 2 doctors from my local NHS mental health service. The fun starts at 2:30 this afternoon lol.

I have to laugh cos I'm actually really nervous about it........

In other news I have had a ...

Hiya, Just popping in :)

Hiya everyone

I have been catching up on the posts. I do pop in from time to time.

Thank you for the www.emo-free.org site. I'm looking into it.

Recently I have a counsellor. I have been to two psychologists in the past and they told me I was managing ok, (too positive) and I did not need them, there was nothing they could do for me. The counsellor I ...

Simple Techniques To Calm Anxiety

I've posted links to the Uncommon Knowledge website before because they're passionate about research and improvements in the field of mental health. They provide excellent info and some freebie's on their site: http://www.uncommon-knowledge.co.uk

In respect of this forum and the rules, I want to make it clear that I'm not affiliated with these sites. I do though have personal experience of them and only wish to pass on anything ...
