Positive things about BPD

Extremes of emotions are a gift -- the capacity to be passionately involved in life, to care deeply about things, to feel hurt; a lot of people don't have that. It's the transition in and out of the highs and lows, the constant contrast, that fosters creativity

Feeling like I'm not worth the time & effort (triggers)

Hi, I don't post here often so I'm not sure if this thread is too triggering. Mods, if it is, please delete!

This is going to be pretty long so please bear with me. I'd really appreciate any kind of response at the moment.

Today I just had a complete breakdown and I came to the conclusion that I'm not worth saving/getting better. I've been struggling with self harm, suicidal thoughts and major depression since ...

life improving in all but one aspect: the relationship.

I moved into a stress free environment after living with my boyfriend and then mother for two years. We have a six month old son together. I live just with my son. Since moving my symptoms have improved greatly. Almost all the time I'm able to keep myself in check. I haven't had out bursts, I haven't felt hatred or defeat,I don't know... I've just been happy! Drama free.
Except when it comes to boyfriend. ...

Poss BPD - should I bring this up with my team? (*Trigger*)

So I guess this question gets asked a lot so I'm sorry. This is my first post as I found this community because I was just really worried and wanted to know what to do.

Basically, I'm diagnosed and in/waiting on treatment for anorexia, PTSD, depression and GAD so I'm in contact with a lot of mental health professionals. I went to my GP the other day due to complications with some SI scars, she ...

cool website by recovered borderline

Not sure if its ok to post this link as this lady also sells written material (if not, mods please feel free to delete), but there are a lot of free articles on there. I found this site really helpful and as close to my own experience as anything I've found on the web so far.

caution tho, some materials may be triggering!

I have a question for you guys

So I am not someone who sleeps around, just to clarify this, I could never sleep with someone I did not think I loved and was in a relationship with. However whenever I go out, no matter what I end up kissing people. I went out with my class from college as exams finished and got very drunk and ended up kissing alot of people, I then get upset and feel depressed and embarrassed.
Does ...

A bpd took me on a long downward spiral and I'm considering

Killing myself. She was a high functioning bpd narcicist, and pulled out all her "victim cards" when we had first met, making me feel obligated to stay with her no matter what. After a long, crazy 6 months, I feel I've completely abandoned myself and bankrupted myself and my goals for her.

Whenever she's in the toilet and goes into her victim mode, I let myself go to help, and then she's turn into a ...

Splitting Question (Trigger?)

um, I'm beginning to feel like I'm swamping the forum a little bit but I've just got so many questions at the mo...so sorry for mass posting

Here's one about splitting: when you do it, do you feel its a case of taking someone's actual good and bad sides, only that you can only see one of them at a time - or do you take their good/bad and massively exaggerate it?

like:
friend is ...

Fear of Losing my 5 Year Relationship

I don't know anyone who has BPD and I could really use some insight from someone who has it in common with me. I have been with my boyfriend Andrew for almost 5 years now. We have had our ...

BPD and applied for disability

I applied for disability last summer only to be denied a few times. I hired a lawyer for the last step, and I met with him again a few days ago to do over my case and make sure everything gets updated. I was ticked off cuz they didn't even have all the correct info from my psychologist and the mental hospital I stayed at for a week. I've seen my psychologist since 2005, and ...
